Early December on the Kootenai is often not the winter wonderland that the rest of Montana is. With a valley bottom that sits at the lowest elevation in the state, we'll watch the snow level creep down the side of Grambauer in November during the first round of winter weather, only for it to all be washed away by rain when the temperature inevitably climbs back above freezing.
